Dent Hero (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website denthero.ca (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit or interact with our Site, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Quote Request Form
When you submit a quote request through our Get a Quote page we collect the following information that you voluntarily provide:
- Name — your full name as entered.
- Email address — used to reply to your quote request.
- Vehicle information — year, make, and model of your vehicle.
- Damage description — a free-text description of the dent(s) you want repaired.
- Photos — up to 5 image files (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC, or HEIF; max 5 MB each) that you choose to attach.
2.2 IP Address (Rate Limiting)
To protect our Site from abuse, each quote form submission is rate-limited. When you submit the form, your IP address is temporarily stored by a third-party caching service using a sliding-window algorithm. The rate limit allows a maximum of 5 submissions per IP address per hour. Your IP address is used solely for this purpose and is not linked to any other personal information we hold.
2.3 Automatically Collected Data
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically collect standard server log data such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited.
We also use a third-party performance monitoring tool that collects anonymized metrics (page load times, Core Web Vitals) to help us improve the Site. No personally identifiable information is collected by this tool.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected solely for the following purposes:
- To respond to your quote request and provide an estimate for paintless dent repair services.
- To contact you by email regarding your submission.
- To enforce rate limits and protect the Site against spam and automated abuse.
- To monitor and improve Site performance using anonymized analytics.
We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, or any purpose beyond directly responding to your request.
4. How We Store and Process Your Data
4.1 Quote Form Submissions
When you submit the quote form, your information (name, email, vehicle details, description, and any attached photos) is packaged into an email and delivered to our team via a third-party transactional email service. We do not store your submission in any database. The only copy of your data resides in our email inbox. Your email address is set as the reply-to address so we can respond to you directly.
4.2 Rate-Limit Records
IP address records used for rate limiting are stored in Upstash Redis with an automatic expiry of 1 hour from the time of the most recent submission. They are purged automatically after that window closes.
4.3 Third-Party Processors
We rely on third-party service providers to operate the Site. Each handles only the data necessary for their function:

All providers are contractually obligated to handle your data securely and only for the purposes described above.
5. Cookies
Dent Hero does not set any first-party cookies. Third-party services we rely on for hosting and performance monitoring may store cookies or use local storage as part of their normal operation. These are strictly functional and do not track you across unrelated websites for advertising purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected:
- Quote form data — retained in our email inbox for as long as we need to manage the business relationship, then deleted.
- Rate-limit IP records — automatically expire and are deleted after 1 hour.
- Server logs — retained per Vercel’s data retention policies.
7. Your Rights
If you are a resident of Canada, you have rights under applicable privacy legislation (including PIPEDA) to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain it.

8. Children's Privacy
Our Site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
